As the Enterprise Applications continue to move from On-Premise to Cloud, there is an interesting challenge that follows. Organizations and the “Power Users” are accustomed to having a comprehensive yet complex workbenches. They used such complex UI in key applications to keep the "lights-on". To add to that many organizations joke that instead of using the products “out of box” they used to swiftly “throw the box out of the window” and customize the software they use in multitude of ways. No longer can they do this as we move to the cloud and that’s where the skills of Product Managers and UX Designers are tested in providing powerful functionality, yet hiding complexity and still giving sufficient wiggle-room to configure the software for individual organizations. To add to that, such changes need to survive frequent and mandatory upgrades that come with “living in the cloud”. Yogendra Joshi, Director of Product Management for Loyalty solutions at Oracle shares his learnings gained through his adventurous journey in doing just that.
